Pacific Oyster Licence Wind-down | NR

Location: The Duchy of Cornwall owns most of the estuary and leases it to the Dart Harbour & Navigation Authority – Dart Tidal. 

Aim:  Pacific oysters are farmed in the Dart Estuary using trestles and the PARC system.  The Duchy of Cornwall plans to phase out Pacific oyster farming on its land to protect native species. The Duchy has farmed Pacific oysters since 2006 but will not renew leases after current permits expire.
